The Bengal Tuberculosis Association was formed in 1929. Originally, it started functioning at Writer's Building. It came to occupy its own premises at 24, Dr Sundari Mohan Avenue, Calcutta, in 1961. It played a stellar role in the diagnosis of tuberculosis, particularly in the low-income population of Kolkata, West Bengal.
